Magic…

Last week, I spent time away from home in beautiful Cornwall (see pictures below). This came about as a result of a much-appreciated Christmas present from a certain Mrs. Rogers (thank you, Laura). This was a great break away from the humdrum of everyday life, but also a working holiday. It was, at this point, needed. Things had come to a bit of a standstill with the writing of the second book in the ‘Raising Hell’ series (Earthbound). We needed time and some inspiration to get started again.

Sometimes, all you need is a little magic – and Cornwall has always been magical to me. In this case, the surroundings were a great starting point to get the story moving again. Parts of the first book are set in Cornwall (Blaine’s encounter with the ravens, and the encounters of both Cadence and Blaine with Valeria), and it will more than likely make an appearance in further books in the series, along with other projects in the future.

Fortunately, it was just the thing that was needed. We both managed to kick-start our writing and are hoping to have ‘Earthbound’ (along with a few other titles) completed before the book signing this year.

All we need to hope for now is that this writing streak continues for the foreseeable future, and that all the pieces fall into place before June.

Otherwise, I’m going to have to crack out the cauldron and get brewing.

Until next time xox
