It seems that every year seems to pass so quickly these days. Last year was no exception. You go to bed on 1st January, and before you know it the year has gone, and you’re cracking out the party poppers and counting down the last ten seconds to see in a new one.
I’d like to say I achieved a lot in 2022. In some ways I did (I finished and passed my Masters), and in others, I didn’t (I didn’t manage to complete the poetry book and novella that I’d hoped to release by the end of the year). I also didn’t blog as much as I should have. However, instead of beating myself up about it, I’ve decided to take a more positive attitude. I can always finish those jobs this year. I have so much to look forward to in the next 12 months, after all.
In March, I will get to don a mortar board and gown for the graduation ceremony (I never managed to for my BA as I graduated late), I get to see two of my favourite bands perform, and my writing partner and I get to attend our first book signing event from the other side of the table (more news on that within the coming months). I am signed up for more courses and hope to attend a writers’ conference at some point.
So, I won’t be surprised if 2023 rushes by, but I will make sure to savour every crazy, beautiful moment of it as it whizzes on by.
I wish you all the Happiest, Healthiest, and Most Wonderful New Year.
Enjoy.
I know I will. xox
